Ebook About
I was in the middle of my divorce when Adam messaged me. I believe his exact words were, “Hi. I think you’re my dad’s brother. Would you like to get to know me?”My brother and I had never been close, so I’d only met his adopted son a few times when he was very young. Instinct told me to ignore the message, and I did. For a few days. It took an exhausting fight with my soon-to-be ex-wife and half a bottle of whiskey for me to change my mind.Adam first became “sort of my nephew.” Next, he became the guy who helped me find an apartment in the building next to his. He was a sweet, cheerful young man doing his best to raise his four-year-old daughter, which led to him becoming the guy who wanted to help me patch up my relationship with my own daughter. Then one night as I got ready for bed, I looked across the alleyway to the next building, where I saw him getting ready for bed too.I couldn’t look away to save my life.It was the night he also became the guy in the window.

Book The Guy in the Window Review :

Oh my gosh, this book was so, so good.I really enjoyed this hot, steamy number more than I expected to.Not that I don't have faith in this author; on the contrary, I have read and loved several of her books.I just wasn't sure where the story might go...My first thought was about the child, as I often find kids in this type of story to be annoying and superfluous. Not so, here. This little girl is a delight!Secondly I love the GFY type theme, but get so bored with the over-used "I'm married to a woman, but I experimented back in college so maybe I'm Bi" trope.I was immensely relieved that Cara did not go there with this one. This was a beautiful, relatively slow burn story of a young (but not juvenile) man who, out of the blue, gets in touch with, who he regards as the only family member he has left. Even though he is several years estranged. This lands right in the middle of a chaotic and stressful period in the older man's life, and because of this they almost do not connect at all.I was particularly endeared to Adam, as at times he displays admirable maturity and level headed traits. It is so common in age gap tales for the younger to be portrayed as clueless and childish.I won't say more, but really, this is a worthwhile read.I loved it to bits!Highly recommended!°Standalone°heat level around 4 flames°no cheating whatsoever°dirty talk, but no unjustified profanity°mm romance°no homophobic slurs
This book proved once again for me why this author is my favorite storyteller when it comes to MM romances. To be honest, I wasn’t so sure about how the story started off and if I would like where it was going. But boy was I in for a treat. I loved Adam’s straightforwardness and how he managed his life seemingly effortless. He was young but knew what he wanted and went for it.Everett was a lot older than Adam, and one would expect he had his life figured out about now. But he was going through a nasty divorce and hasn’t found his footing as a single guy living on his own yet.Adam and Everett couldn’t have been any more different. One was a young gay man, driven and always looking for a new challenge in life, with a small child to take care of, not bothering to date anyone yet. The other one was much older, straight and divorced from his long-time marriage, looking for a new place to stay, seemingly a little lost, with a teenage daughter he rarely saw or heard from apart from when she needed money. As expected, it was a slow burn for a while since Everett wasn’t gay in the beginning. But I really loved how the story moved along. The interaction between the characters was so sweet and constantly building and growing. I rooted for them and cheered them on from the sidelines.I loved how Adam pushed Everett in the best way and helped him break out of his shell to find the guy he once was but who got lost throughout the last years. They complemented each other perfectly.
